Of course, I thought, I'm not going to be building out a purely static website, but I'll skim it anyway.In a nutshell, this guide actually finally filled in several web management basics I had never fully comprehended nor appreciated. Basics like root vs www domains, redirects were welcome, and not at all pandering or remedial.
Then, there was the outstanding introduction to Cloudfront, with a clear and crisp way to introduce it, in proper order, to improve the world-wide performance of one's site. Beautiful job.
Finally, the consideration of how to estimate pricing, including very considerate sections noting practical considerations like "if only doing this to learn, this is where you'll want to clean up to ensure you do not get charged..."
This was my second getting started guide and it did not disappoint. Invaluable.

Nice to have a step by step guided tour of how it is done. The details no longer match the dynamic reality of S3, but the essential ideas remain useful. Just had to poke around a bit in 's updated interface to find what I needed.
Dont skip this starter because it explains how easy it is to one setup static hosting, plus edge servers for caching content closer to consumer, domain naming service configuration and a node for storing older log files.
